Further proof Arbory is one of the best, most versatile drinking and eating spots in Melbourne: it has launched a cocktail list.
Just in time for summer, the longneck, alfresco deck bar positioned on the bank between Flinders Street Station and the Yarra River, has added a 12-strong cocktail list to their offerings. The cocktail menu accompanies their Spanish and Australian wine list and beer selection that focuses on smaller, Victorian craft beers.
The cocktail list has you covered for summer sessions, after work drinks, Spring/Summer date nights, pre-dinner thirst and – dare we mention – the odd messy night out.
To cater for the thirsty crowds that amass at Arbory, the bar is fitted with two cocktail-pumping taps – one pouring the nitro espresso martini and another serving their gin-based signature drink, the Plane Collins. This is a godsend for those who want their cocktails as quickly as they can say “tequila”. The rest of the list is vodka-dominant and largely inspired by Melbourne, the Victorian goldrush and summer. Think watermelon margaritas and barrel-aged negronis.
Queues to get into the venue are not uncommon and this could very easily deter the thirsty. However, one of the drawcards of Arbory is the all-encompassing menu on hand for when you need a little something to help absorb that drink. The menu starts from breakfast fare and ranges through to smaller nibbles, larger share plates and more substantial meals. The cheeseburger is most talked about, and remains a definite winner.
Arbory is the bar for anyone and everyone and is down for whatever. Flexible, beautiful, Melbourne-proud and cocktails on tap for god sake!
In a sentence: Alfresco-River charm with something for everyone.
