This crew behind Dandenong Pavilion, Three One Two One and Grand Trailer Park are starting to illuminati the shit out of the Melbourne burger scene.
We know that they know that we know that they know how to make a beautiful, juicy, balanced burger. But Royal Stacks on Collins St offers us a good price point, desserts whipped by the famous 7 Apples in St Kilda, and a very awesome place to hang out in the often baron downtown end of the city.
Royal Stacks excels at the colossal style burgers – the more in it, the better they taste. While juicy patties feature in seven of the eight burgers on the menu, the Bacon Bacon and The King (which features the team’s signature mac and cheese croquette) are going to make your meal turnt.
Did we mention they serve potato gems? And of course fries. But potato gems. To wash it all down, St Kilda’s 7 Apples Gelato has created a few frozen custard (read: soft serve) options that can also be found in Royal’s waffle and donut sundae-style desserts and shakes.
With a floor to ceiling vertical garden wall, polished cement floors, cosy booths and all glass façade, the fit out is pretty mighty. It’s a place to grab a goodie before heading out, while catching up after work and on your lonesome lunch hour break.
In a sentence: Delicious, trusty burgers holding the torch for downtown Melbourne CBD.
Verdict: Would Go Back
