We’re not going to lie, we’re not exactly experts in regards to Indian food, but Mukka’s lineup of currys, naan breads, tandoori, and philosophy of keeping things simple, fresh and ‘how their mum used to make it’, definitely brings a smile to our face.

Setting up shop on Brunswick Street – continuing its trend toward diversity and reinvention, it’s a welcome addition, as Mukka brings a modern twist to the tired stereotypical Indian restaurants of yore. The decor is rustic, but playful, and the menu authentic and fresh.

Flavour’s the priority here, and it’s in full effect from the moment you walk through the door.  Treat yourself by going the whole hog (or vegetarian forest) with the $35 feed me menu, and sit back and relax as the good times roll despite it’s value driven price tag.

We’re not Indian food connoisseurs, but we do know this is our recommendation when somebody’s feeling like Indian food that’s not just out of a plastic container.

In a sentence: Brings a whole new perspective of how and where we should be eating Indian food.

Verdict: Legit
